Now that summer is in full swing, a summer wardrobe is a must. My regular stylist Megan was on vacation for this fix so I had a fill-in named Jason. He did a pretty good job for styling his first fix for me. He paid attention to my Pinterest board a lot which was a good thing.
IN CASE YOU DON’T KNOW, HERE IS HOW STITCH FIX WORKS:
- You start by filling out your style profile – you will complete all sorts of questions on sizing, fit/cut, pricing (I choose the cheapest category), style preferences – colors, prints, fabrics, etc. You can also write notes about likes/dislikes. *** Important Note: Make sure to link your fashion board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like!*** (This has been truly beneficial for me because my stylist ALWAYS tries to find similar items that I have pinned to my Pinterest board).
- Order your first fix! Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee however, if you keep at least one item you will be credited back the $20. Because of this, I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20 for nothing in return. You will receive 5 items (made up of clothing, jewelry, handbags, and shoes). I personally only want clothing in my fix so I chose to not receive any accessory items and marked that in my style profile.
- You have 3 business days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back (don’t worry, Stitch Fix also provides a pre-paid postage envelope so you don’t have to worry about paying for shipping to send any items back). During this time, try on the items, mix and match them with pieces already in your wardrobe and don’t be afraid to try something on even if you initially don’t like it when you first pull it out of the box. You may be surprised on what items you love after you try something on! *If you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix.
- When you check out – Leave feedback!!!! This step is super important so your stylists knows your likes and dislikes!
***Just to note: I chose to receive monthly boxes; however, this is in no way a subscription service. You choose how often you want to receive a fix. This can be every 2-3 weeks, monthly, every other month, every 3 months, etc.
Remember – If you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin away and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for the item or something similar!
Summer Wardrobe Fix
Leota – Lula Jersey Dress
Jason picked the Lula Jersey dress for me because it was one that I liked while playing the Stitch Fix game. I thought the dress was cute and I loved the polka dots on it. It had that cute pin-up girl vibe to it. A cute dress is a great piece to add to your summer wardrobe, but I almost felt like this dress was way too heavy. At least for summer here in Virginia Beach.
41 Hawthorn – Bogota Dress
The emerald color of the Bogota dress is absolutely beautiful and one of my favorite colors. I loved the built in waistband to give your body shape and a accentuate the waistline. I really liked this dress except for one thing, I do not like chiffon material and that is exactly what this dress it. Itchy material is a big no for me especially when it’s 100 degrees outside.
STS Blue – Maggy Distressed Frayed Hem Denim Short & Pink Clover – Daisha Floral Back Knit Top
A good pair of denim shorts is a staple in a summer wardrobe. Upon opening the box, I really liked the Maggy Distressed Denim Shorts until I turned them around…..and one pocket was cut off!!!! Why would you cut off a pocket?!?!?! These shorts are really stretchy and comfortable though.
The Daisha floral tank is cute. The material is so soft and it was a nice stretch too it. Floral is always a great addition to any summer wardrobe. Personally, I thought the tank would have been cuter if it was the same pattern on the entire tank. I already own far too much gray.
Emory Park – Dulce Cross Front Knit Top
The light purple Emory Park cross front tee is another great choice to pair with shorts. It’s casual and comfortable. The top is super light-weight and so soft. And once again, stripes. You can never go wrong with stripes.
Which piece(s) would you have kept from this fix? What did you think of this Stitch Fix maternity fix? Do you think these items make good maternity pieces? And if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below as well! Also, if you’d like, you can check out my previous fix here!
