Welcome Spring and my new post baby fix! In case you were wondering, I skipped my April fix. My baby boy was born on April 7, 2018! The last thing I wanted to do was try on any clothes. Because, let’s be real for a second, who actually feels good about trying on any clothes after having a baby? I sure don’t and I wasn’t loving myself for this fix. All I want to do is live in my leggings, sweatpants and oversized T-shirts for the time being until I can get my body back into shape.
P.S. Let’s ignore the fact I was squinting in every single one of these pictures. The sun was so bright and this momma was so tired!!!
IN CASE YOU DON’T KNOW, HERE IS HOW STITCH FIX WORKS:
- You start by filling out your style profile – you will complete all sorts of questions on sizing, fit/cut, pricing (I choose the cheapest category), style preferences – colors, prints, fabrics, etc. You can also write notes about likes/dislikes. *** Important Note: Make sure to link your fashion board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like!*** (This has been truly beneficial for me because my stylist ALWAYS tries to find similar items that I have pinned to my Pinterest board).
- Order your first fix! Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee however, if you keep at least one item you will be credited back the $20. Because of this, I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20 for nothing in return. You will receive 5 items (made up of clothing, jewelry, handbags, and shoes). I personally only want clothing in my fix so I chose to not receive any accessory items and marked that in my style profile.
- You have 3 business days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back (don’t worry, Stitch Fix also provides a pre-paid postage envelope so you don’t have to worry about paying for shipping to send any items back). During this time, try on the items, mix and match them with pieces already in your wardrobe and don’t be afraid to try something on even if you initially don’t like it when you first pull it out of the box. You may be surprised on what items you love after you try something on! *If you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix.
- When you check out – Leave feedback!!!! This step is super important so your stylist knows your likes and dislikes!
***Just to note: I chose to receive monthly boxes; however, this is in no way a subscription service. You choose how often you want to receive a fix. This can be every 2-3 weeks, monthly, every other month, every 3 months, etc.
Remember – If you see anything that you like below, feel free to pin away and/or ask your stylist in the notes section of your next fix for the item or something similar!
My Post Baby Fix
Kaileigh – Jonesman One Shoulder Knit Top
This top is so cute. I love it! I love the olive green color. Normally, I usually don’t wear off the shoulder shirts because that means that I have to wear a strapless bra. Let’s face it, I hate everything about strapless bras. Who’s with me? But anyway, back to the shirt. This shirt is amazing because it has a strap on the shoulder so you can wear a regular bra with it!!! I was wearing one and it was barely noticeable.
Nine Britton – Emarie Split Neck Knit Top
Warning my post baby belly I’m not loving, but I absolutely love this top. I cannot begin to tell you what I love more than the fact it has the stripes or it’s a baseball tee! I love baseball tees and probably have at least 25 of them in my closet, but who’s counting?(…except maybe PJ because he literally has no space in our tiny closet and has his clothes hanging in Logan’s bedroom closet). I’m more of a comfy, casual type of girl and this is a comfy, casual shirt. A win-win for me! And seriously, this was the perfect post baby top. The fabric is super soft.
Kaleigh – Jaggy Keyhole Back Blouse and Kut From The Kloth – Felice Distressed Capri Straight Leg Jean
So you may not know this about me, but giraffes are my favorite animal. I was a little bit too excited when I saw this tank and saw the giraffe print on it! However, this tank was just not loving my post-pregnancy body. I really don’t need anything accentuating my chest and belly anymore.*sigh*
Kut from the Kloth is one of my favorite brands of jeans. I also am a huge fan of capris because they are something you can wear spring through fall. As with most KFTK jeans, these have a nice stretch to them as well. I like a good stretchy material because I don’t like to feel confined in my clothing.
French Grey – Esther Brushed Knit Maxi Dress
I wanted to love this dress. It makes a great dress for spring and summer. My stylist Megan, sent it to me because I had liked it in the Style Shuffle. But lo and behold, I just do not love this dress. The fabric is super soft. The print is a cute floral. The dress has a nice stretch to it. However, I just don’t love it on my body. This dress not only makes a great cover up for the post baby belly, but it’s super comfortable!
Which piece(s) would you have kept from this fix? And if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments below as well! Also, you can check out my previous fix here!
